A big, tightly petalled purple dahlia — one of the strongest colours we grow. Sold as an established plant in a nursery pot, already in bud or flower, so it goes straight into a bed or a large pot and keeps going.

Dahlias want sun for most of the day and water that never lets the pot dry right out. Dead-head as the flowers go over and it will keep throwing new ones.
